        ACMA Upgrade Project

        The ACMA has radio communications monitoring facilities across Australia. An upgrade program has been initiated the project is being managed by the ACMA Monitoring and Measurement Section. This upgrade is being carried out to meet operational requirements and includes tower, feeder, antenna and monitoring hardware swap outs and upgrading.

        Upgrade requirements include removal of legacy hardware, feeder and antennas and installation and swap over of new monitoring and measurement equipment such as UHV, VHF radios, Direction Finding equipment and antenna, Discone antenna and associated hardware, feeder systems, mounting hardware and control cables.

        TransGrid NSW

        The removal and disposal of redundant communication equipment at various sites in NSW. TransGrids radio covers the whole of NSW and has links that are 3.7m in diameter covering 80km+ hops. Each telecommunications site had legacy battery back Up, 2 phase Diesel generators, rectifiers, space diversity links. All of this redundant equipment had to be removed from a live network. Project was broken down into three regions: North (Newcastle to Tamworth), Central (Sydney metro to Orange) and South (Picton to Wagga).

        Key factor in winning this principle contract with TransGrid is our ISO equivalent OH&S and environmental framework. This project had a very high OH&S risk factor, Adnexus completed the project without incident. TransGrids live network could not be disturbe during the removal, making the project technically channeling. JWTECH supplied project management, in-field rigging and technical crews, diesel generators sub contractors, crane, logistics and salvage services to complete scope.

        JWTECH was engaged at the ninth hour to get this project over the line. After a disappointing engagement with the original tender winners, Samsung turned to Adnexus and were rewarded with a refreshing customer-centric approach and superior project delivery from Adnexus. With only two weeks to ramp up, Adnexus was contracted to deliver, install and commission the Samsung 1X expansion RBS (fully loaded and assembled) and additional BBU strings into 300+ sites in Sydney and Melbourne. The RBS unit weighed 270Kg and was 60x60x180, the batteries each weighed 47Kg and there were 12 per site. To cut a long story short, we finished the turn key project a week early and on budget. Mission accomplished.
